CLINICAL PROCEEDINGS

Salina's Dennie Dighera

Dennie Dighera of Salina is back to work after successful treatment for prostate cancer through the KU Cancer Center.

Dennie Dighera knew he wanted more than conventional treatment for an aggressive prostate cancer discovered in 2006. So the Salina businessman sought a second opinion from KU Cancer Center urologist Jeff Holzbeierlein.

The doctor urged Dighera to enroll in a clinical trial during which he received a unique combination of chemotherapy and hormones, followed by successful surgery.

Dighera is continuing regular checkups at the KU Cancer Center in Kansas City, Kan., and heÕs back to full speed in his home and business activities.
