After Hays resident Barbara Grabbe was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, she and her physician logged on to the interactive clinical network Telemedicine, which serves about 2,500 Kansans annually from 40 sites.
Through a partnership with KU Medical Center, Grabbe and her doctor conferred with KU specialist Gary Doolittle over several months of successful treatment and surgery. And Grabbe never traveled more than a few miles from home, saving time and energy and still working in the two small businesses she owns.
